Our client, a leading global Oil and Gas services company, seek an experienced Metallurgical Failure Investigation Specialist for a permanent Technical Leadership position at a Metallurgical Services Laboratory in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

 Along with a significant Tax Free salary, this role comes with accommodation and car (or generous allowance), health care, married status (spouse allowed), annual paid return trip to UK and 25 days holiday.

Candidates should have significant training and experience – academic and commercial – in metallurgical failure investigation within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industries.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a good history in resolving welding, heat treatment, corrosion and fatigue failures in the Oil and Gas industry, and be fully aware of international quality and materials safety standards.

The Role:
- Technical Leadership position – lead investigator with responsibility for junior staff
- Responsibility for the management and supervision of failure investigations.
- Report writing and Technical sign off responsibility
- Training and development of junior staff in failure best practice
- Technical consulting to clients around the Middle East.
- Travel to clients sites.

The Candidate:
- Degree and ideally PhD qualified metallurgist or materials engineer
- Chartered Engineer
- Technical Leader in failure investigations
- Must have significant experience in Oil and Gas industries.

This position is highly desirable and we are looking for a candidate that would relish the opportunity to live and work in the Middle East.

The Benefits:
Tax Free salary circa £50,000 (gross equivalent ~£80,000)
